Charlie Kirk was recently martyred, and I'm mad. Made me wish they'd bring back stoning people to death. You know what's bothering me though and shouldn't? God's grace is freely available to his killer inasmuch as it is to me. Know what else? The thought of Jesus taking this punk's place; it was bad enough that Charlie was killed, but now my Lord paying for it? I think I understand better Peter rebuking Jesus (Mat. 16:22).

If Charlie came back down from heaven, knowing what he knows now, seeing Whom he's seen now (1 John 3:2), and being made perfect as he is now, I believe he would forgive his killer without any contempt in his heart. Why do I believe this? Because Charlie now resembles Jesus (Rom. 8:29), and when they unjustly crucified Christ, while hanging from the cross, Jesus prayed for His killers, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34). I think I understand better why Jonah didn't want to go to Nineveh (Jonah 4:2), fortunately God is more gracious than any man (2 Sam. 24:14). God's grace is unmatched, available to all freely, and never comes up short (Rom. 5:20). Tyler, if you read this, know that the Apostle Paul started out by killing Christians too (Acts 7:58). There's a reason we sing His grace is amazing.
